Dreamlinux not mounting Floppies

Ok,

I've just installed Dreamlinux 2.2MMGL RC3 and I'm having issues with mounting my floppy drive. I can see it under /mnt but it says 'no read' and clicking on it makes it vanish... It is seen in the auto-mounting software in Dreamlinux but won't mount at all?!

What have I done wrong?

EDIT: It appears CD's do the same thing...

open a terminal and do the following:
to mount a floppy:

mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

^change /mnt/floppy to whatever other the other name you got is

to mount a cd:

mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom

^where /dev/hdc is the cdrom device file (the ide device order is such: hda is the first, hdb the second, hdc the third, hdd the forth) and change /mnt/cdrom to whatever other mountpoint you have or want to use

to unmount do the following:

umount /mnt/cdrom

umount /mnt/floppy

there might be some graphical bling that makes it look easy but this is the most reliable way.
