libdb is probably going to be provided by a package like db4.

Why don't you just install the RPM ?

http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...6.5.x86_64.rpm

Not sure on that one.. you could search their build system for a SLES version.. didn't realise you weren't running OpenSuse

Is there a specific reason you need a Postfix version that new, rather than the version that is packaged for SLES ?

Well Im running it in a production enviroment as a mail/spam/gateway for exchange and I see a lot of exploit/bug fixes in the new version. Don't want the kiddies/hax0rs bombing my box and it goes offline. anything to prevent a phone call hahah

Typically any security updates and fixes are backported into the older versions for server distros such as SLES, and RHEL. then you can update them through the distros security update system. Compiling it yourself just means any new security fixes will require another recompile as well..
