Draftsight on Ubuntu

Linux Mint, which is supposedly based on Ubuntu, has a package handler that, when I click on the ubuntu version of Draftsight on the desault site, and select to open with that package handler by default, installs draftsight flawlessly, and Draftsight runs better on Mint than it does on Windows.

So...when I am in Ubuntu, Ubuntu uses a different package handler, and that seems to go just as smoothly as the Mint handler, but then at the end, it gives errors and won't go further.

The package handler for SolydK works for installing the Ubuntu version from the desault site.
The package handler for Mint works for installing the Ubuntu version from the desault site.
The package handler for UBUNTU does NOT for installing the UBUNTU version from the desault site.......

what am I missing?

I went back and tried again a couple weeks ago, and it seems like something got fixed.

It works now, at least when using the XFCE desktop of Ubuntu.

Cheers

Is that a 32 or 64bit machine?
I had Draftsight running on 32bit Debian box, but I cant get it to run on a 64bit Debian box.

Just to add insult to injury, I have to run Draftsight on a Windoze XP box at work.
