Downloading(copying) photos from a CANON 250D camera.

Using "gtkam" on a Debian 11 system:
"Camera > Add camera > detect" will give me the correct camera and USB,
but then clicking on "Apply" or "OK" gives me an error:
"Coul not initialize camera."

Any suggestion ?

I don't use Canon, but my easiest solution is to use a card reader.

KISS.

I have a 300D (it uses really old CF cards), and this is my workflow:
  1. Switch off camera
  2. Plug it in (USB)
  3. Switch it on => Camera goes to transfer state, for lack of a better term
  4. Launch gtkam
I also had to choose PTP mode on both the camera and gtkam.

HTH
