download streaming video?

I'm trying to download some video that is streamed via a windows media server.

[The video URL is available to members only so I am not able to post it's url]

i've successfuly viewed the streaming file (the mms:// url gathered by looking at the page source) via xine.

Apparently, xine does not have a video/audio redirect feature...that I know of anyway.

I've wget'd the file and got a text file that contains "Ref1=http://someurl..."
I've attempted to wget this file as well but it downloads the same file.

Is there a way to wget the streaming video file? I remember doing this before but don't remember the results.

thanks for any help!

Install mplayer or any other media player and make sure it has the correct codecs for whatever type of media your trying to download/stream from whatever site. You could probably at least tell us what format they are using..

it's an asf file...I think...at least that's what mplayer thinks.

mplayer returns saying it's an unknown object...which is wierd because xine is able to play the file no problem.
