download only 240mb of data and stops

What would limit a directory to stop downloading a file
(580mb) at 260mb. The directory is 22GB in size.

It is possible that your ISP has some sort of restriction on the time you can stay connected.

The directory is 22gb in size? Do you mean partition or the hard drive? Directories do not have fixed sizes.

My guess is that you are downloading to your home directory on a partition with insufficient space. The Disk Free command might help:

df -h

Just curious. Is this the 3rd cd of Mandrake 9.1 distro? I never was able to complete that one.
