dovecot configuration

Hello. I recently installed the newest release of dovecot and I have a problem. In the past versions I used auth_passdb = shadow. The mechanism has changed in this newer version, and I can't get to configure it corectly. I want to enable normal users on my machine to be able to receive mail. How can I do just that? Thank you in advance.

First of all, thank you for the overwhelming support.

I found out what the solution was: getting another release, because others have had problems with the "official" one.
