Smile dont start automatic xwindows


I use Redhat 2.1 Advance server

I don't run xwindows applications (xterm ,xclock ..)
when I type xhost + and export DISPLAY=hostip:0.0
I can use xwindows applications

How can use automatic start X when the server rebooted

i assume using advance server wouldn't make a difference, but i guess we'll see if it does:
go to terminal
su to root
open up /etc/inittab for editing
change the line:
id:3:initdefault
to look like this:
id:5:initdefault

oh and just to note how you somewhat have a little mess up, as it may be the reason for future wrong answers, cause if i have read the thread title and not your content, i woulda told you the opposite of what i said
your thread title is -> don't start xwindows automatically
your questions is --> how can xwindows start automatically.

this is dangerous though because if X goes bad, certain distros won't fall back into console, they just crash.
