DoINeedWineX?


Do i realy need WineX i was just reading arounf and i stumbled upon a thread. and a guy said u can play just about any game on linux. but he never said anything about WineX? Do u realy need WineX, or can u play without it? Or is there another program I can use similar to it without the price???

well you can obtain winex freely from many sources, the most common being the cvs version....and it depends what games you wanna play...if its something like diablo, soldier of fortune, counter-strike, etc, etc....that are only built for windows, then yes you obviously will have to use something like winex....

I have just moved the thread to Linux - Software. It fits better here. Member Intro is a nice plece to say 'hello', but questions should be posted to other forums.

Going back to your problem: games ported to Linux can be run without any other programs. many Windows games work when you use Wine/WineX, but not all! Before trying, search/ask other people if it's possible.
