Does XVIDTUNE work with LCD ?

Hi everybody,

My question is quite easy : "Does XVIDTUNE work with an LCD screen , or only with a CRT one ?". XVIDTUNE seems to be very interesting to resize a screen when the chosen resolution has not the same ratio than the native one. For example, the laptop I just bought has a 15,4" screen with a native resolution of 1280x800 (10/6 ratio). If I want to use 800x600 (4/3 ratio), displayed images have not the right sizes (they are too wide) : a square is displayed as a rectangle. So one has to reduce the width of the displayed screen. XVIDTUNE has parameters to do it, but I didn't succeed so far to make it working with my laptop...

Thanks in advance for all information about XVIDTUNE, or other similar program. My laptop is an ACER Aspire 3004WLMi running under UBUNTU 6.06.
