Does vsftpd follow symlinks when writing to a file?
I'm trying to ftp web pages to the /var/www/html directory in Ubuntu 18.04 and can't get access to that directory. I setup an ftpuser with a symlink in his home directory to /var/www/html thinking that ftp'ing to that file would actually be writing to the html directory.
If I connect to the vsftp server with ftp and just list the symlink I get the listing of there html file, but can't write to it.
The vsftp.conf is the one listed in installation tutorials.
The following are what I assume are the relevant ones:
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
chroot_local_user=Yes
allow_writeable_chroot=YES
