Does not finish completely
Hi folks,
that's not really a problem, but I am curious: when I finish my KDE and boot down (how do you say in English for the opposite of booting??), it does so very nicely, the last kernel messages are: /dev/hda4 umounted devpts umounted /dev/hda3 umounted proc umounted The system will be halted immediately Master resource Control: runlevel 0 has been reached Skipped services in runlevel 0 personal-firewall.initial Then the picture stands. When I boot down Windows, my PC is switched off, here it is not. I do not use firewall. Could this be the point? Where should I check? Sincerely yours, Bernhard |
Check for the package 'apm' and then enable it through YaST. You can also start it manually using 'rcapmd start'.
If you're using the stock kernel the APM features should be included. |
apm=off installation
Hello mcleodnine,
thanks for the hint. Only, I installed my Linux under safe settings with apm=off. Now I tried to activate it, but my kernel just says: not supported by kernel unused What options do I have? Can we go into detail? Yours, Bernhard |
