Does messing with graphics drivers in Windows (on one partition) affect anything in Linux (seperate partition)?

Nothing in a Linux file system will be modified by a Windows driver (I hope).

Linux drivers should initialize the device to a known state. However, some devices are not well documented and its possible that the Windows drivers may set up state that Linux doesn't know about when it comes up.

On the actual drive? No. I have never heard of that happening. However, I have certainly had microsoft bork a device to where linux can't use it. For example, on an old laptop i can log into windows and shutdown bluetooth, then log into linux and be unable to turn on bluetooth or change it in any way. To fix I had to log back into windows, enable it, then return to linux to operate it. That is the only way I can imagine Windows affecting a Video Card on the linux side.

Oh yes it can. There is nothing special about either OS or file formats.

I use both Windows and Linux o fix both Windows and Linux. Horses for courses, or more usuually, which ever tool comes to hand first.

Very often I will be presented with disks to recover without being told what is on them never mind what OS or file format.

the question isn't unreasonable.

short answer: most probably not.

long answer: i can think of a few cases where that could happen (efi nightmares...).

do you have an actual problem, or are you just curious?

How Not to ask a Question.
Generally, "messing" with shit is what gets you boned.
What have you done?

Show some real effort. "Title" is LAME.
