Does LoadLin write to the MBR?
 
Hi all,

I've got a dual boot, dual hard drive setup with Linux on its own drive. I want to try using LoadLin, and not using either Grub or Lilo.

Reason is, GoBack (Windoze drive revert prog) needs to write to the MBR, and won't work when Grub is loaded - haven't tried Lilo, but assume it will do the same.

Does anyone know if LoadLin itself writes to the MBR? It seems my only hope to get GoBack back on my dual booter. I've already changed BIOS, drive boot order, and all the other variants.

loadlin is a DOS executable that boots linux but not a bootloader like lilo or grub. You can not use loadlin with any windows above 98 except for a boot floppy. If your running W2K or XP here is an alternative:
