Does Linux Have a Program That Can Add Track Markers to A File and Leave it One File?

For Years I've used Audacity to add tracks to long music files. If you do that, say 10 times, you end up with 10 separate files.

Does Linux have a program that can add tracks to a long file, and leave it one file? I would like to push "next" and have it go to the next track, but I don't want a bunch of files, just one.

Thank you,
Chris.
