Does firefox use 'Dual_EC_DRBG' for number generation?


hi,

i would like to know whether Firefox web browser using 'Dual_EC_DRBG' algorithm to generate random numbers for security purposes.

I don't see why Firefox would need to generate random numbers for elliptic curve cryptography at all. Those numbers are needed to generate a set of ECC asymmetric keys, but as far as I know, Firefox never generates certificates or asymmetric key pairs of any kind.

So I don't know with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure the answer is "no".
