Does CentOS support MP3 Playback ?

Only if you install some mp3 extensions from a 3rd party site

Only patented software/codecs can be installed from a 3rd party site, but are not included with the installation disks, nor or they in the 'official' repositories

Maybe you could read this thread about CentOS and multimedia. Why would you want to install CentOS? Are you planning on running a production-grade server from home in the near future?
