Does anyone know opens source application for API

Hi Guys

I have Apache server which is giving feeds to other client based application. If anyone is aware if it is any open source application by which I can configure API and distribute APIs to customers/clients so that they can authenticate and download the data.

The question isn't clear.

It sounds like you may be offering your server to host new applications. Or maybe you're asking if there's any way to determine if a client is open source. There's not even a question mark.

What's your question?

I googled API ( i know what it is related to programming) but
The American Petroleum Institute (API)
application program interface (API - and sometimes spelled 'application programming interface')
the question is really too vague to give a straight answer.

Oops my bad guys if my question was not clean or may be I couldn't interpret it. Well API is Application Programming Interface by which clients could authenticate and get the data using curl or other methods.

Hence wanted to know if we can build API server on linux so that clients could authenticate and get the data?

i still think you need to do a bit of research on just what a " API" is !

you DO NOT build a api server!!! there is no such thing and can never be a thing

api's are basically CALLS!!!! you make in software to libraries or headers

Linux has very powerful support with lots of choices for any web server imaginable. The only exception might be some proprietary technology, especially by Microsoft.

So the answer in "YES". But that's probably not very helpful. If you want more detail, you need to pose a more detailed question.
