Does anyone have a link to a good explanation of lirc's hardware.conf?

Hi everyone,

I can't find anything comprehensive even on the Lirc site.
What I am after is a good detailed explanation of the parameters in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf

Thanks for any pointers.

Thank you, Drakeo, but I am specifically looking for details on all the parameters specified in hardware.conf.
The comments supplied in some of the sample files I found on the net don't really cover all the options, just the more obvious ones.
As an example, there are some REMOTE% parameters that I am interested in.

Thanks.
