distccd not compiling on remote host, forced to compile locally
I tried the distccd mailing list but with no replies so either it's something obvious and no one can be bothered to reply or no one has a clue what I'm talking about, anyway maybe someone here can help...
I've got two systems a dual AMD 2000+ running fedora core 4 and a dual P3
1.26 running gentoo.
Now the gentoo system is a new install and I'd like to be able to get the
machine running fedora to do some of the compiling. I've set up distccd
on the fedora machine and everything seems to be running fine, but when I try and compile on the gentoo machine it fails and says it has to compile it locally.
This is the error i get on the fedora machine...
distccd[9754]: compile from Exception.tmp.localhost.23883.ii to tmp.hash.localhost.23883.o
distccd[8661]: (dcc_log_child_exited) ERROR: child 9735: signal 4 (no core)
Whats causing this? I've googled but found nothing.. any ideas?
cheers,
Chris.
