Dissapearing titlebars?!?!
I'm assuming this is a software prob anyways....
I'm running Fedora 6 on an Asus laptop (2x1.6GHz, 1024MB, 100Gb, NVidia 7300Go 512MB) and it's all been going great... up until this morning when I lost all my titlebars. This means I can't minimise, maximise etc and when something's set up to run fullscreen (Firefox) I can't reach the taskbar. Any ideas on how to get them back? Many thanks, Matt |
Which gui are you using?

Using Gnome. I've tried logging in as a different user on Gnome, and they have titlebars, and I've tried using KDE, and that has titlebars too...but I prefer using Gnome.

Ahah! Fixed... touch wood
I removed and then reinstalled gdm and xorg-x11-twm (Both window managers) Thinking about it now, I probably only needed to do gmd, 'cos KDE was already working. Meh, all's well that ends well! |
Probably all that would be needed is the removal or rename of .gnome or .gnome2 in your home directory.

Ok. ta. I'll note that down for when I next break something....

...like now:rolleyes:
If anyone else is looking for a solution to this, the way I fixed it (ie, worked for me, may not for you) is the following: 1) Disable the Desktop Effects (System, Preferences, Desktop Effects) 2) Choose a new theme (and then go back to your favourite if you want) 3) Logout / Login 4) Enable Desktop Effects Should be sorted then.
