displaying the time in enlightenment wm
this is a really simple question but i can't seem to find it in any enlightenment documentation or anywhere online. all i get in google is information on the historical movement, the enlightenment - not the wm.
all i want to know is how to display what time it is in enlightenment similar to how it is displayed in other window managers. thanks in advance. |
I had the same problem as you when I used enlightenment. On all wm I've tryed so far, time was show in the taskbar, but since enlightenment does not have a "regular" taskbar, it cannot be shown there. Maybe there are some epplets that will allow that.
If you're using any system monitoring, all of them allow to show the time, is what I used when tryed enlightenment. |

oh, so that's what epplets are. lol.
thanks |
Epplets are ok but they tend to crash a lot when you restart enlightenment or what not. And the worse part some E themes do not even provide epplets support. xdali clock, dclock, xclock, and oclock are some good light ones that I use. Or gkrellm on sticky, gdesklets, or torsmo.

i tried out those clocks you recommended jev-bird, but i also want to try epplets. now that i have them installed, what is my "epplets.menu" file supposed to look like? i can't find a lot of docs on epplets, so sorry if this is a really basic question.

disregard the last post, getting epplets to work is pretty self-explanatory.
now that i have epplets working, i want to know how to move E-Time somewhere other than where it decides to place itself. there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this. does anyone have a solution? *edit* nm, i just set new windows to be placed manually and was able to put it where i wanted it. |
