sorry, u r right. actually i've tried to customize the card and monitor during the installation. and that's the real problem. i tried re-installing XServer. then XFree86 -configure and then Xserver starts. then i re-install the whole Linux, this time i didn't customize and let it do by installation itself. and every thing goes fine without doing anything in one go.
thanks.

I didn't know 9.1 had 650 drivers, doesn't it go up to 632 only? Anyway, can you do 3d things like tuxracer chinmay nautiya?

I would like to know this too.
I am using RH8 and have an onboard SiS650 card. I am using the drivers dowloaded from here: http://www.keylabs.com/linux/results/asus_p4s333vm.html _but_ havn't got 3d acceleration to work yet.
My question is - does Mandrake 9.1 support 3D with the SiS650 card? If so I might just have to swich.
Cheers,
Will.
