Disk /dev/sda1 doesn't contain a valid partition table in SELS 11 SP4
Hiiii
I am facing a problem with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4 x86-64.
While run the command fdisk -l /dev/sda*, then it is showing all partition details with the below error:
"Disk /dev/sda1 doesn't contain a valid partition table."(/ partition)
"Disk /dev/sda1 doesn't contain a valid partition table."(swap partition)
All partition are formated by ext3. Same error are showing with ext4.
Pls help me.

Only the device has a partition table - don't use globbing. If you want several devices, enumerate them separately.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions. I would advise you strongly to change your username to one that isn't your email address, unless you want to receive a host of spam emails.

Or simply issue fdisk -l /dev/sda.

I've bolded a part of your initial post above. You really need to read the LQ Rules about text-speak, and not using it. But most importantly, you're using SLES, which is a commercial, PAY FOR distro. Part of what you're paying for is support...you should utilize it first, especially if you're having system problems, rather than posting to a public forum and waiting for a reply.
