Disconnecting one mouse input source

On my laptop (DELL C600), I have both a trackpad and a nipple (mini-joystick).
which I can't physically disconnect.
I was wondering if there is a way to disconnect the trackpad from /dev/mouse
so that it'ssignlas are ignored?

Thanks,
Riddick

Post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I am not sure how that piece of hardware works. There might be two seperate mouse input devices in there. All you should need to do is reverse them in the server layout section. I may wrong here but it is a quick thought. If they are the same device then maybe some of the lines in the mouse input section can be remmed out to do what you want.

I am not familiar with that hardware and can not help with it. Just thought there might be two input devices defined there.
