disabling anti-alias in firefox .9/selecting nicer font for mdk 10

I just installed mandrake 10 the other day on my laptop w/ 15" xga screen. One of the first thigns i noticed was that the fonts don't seem as nice as windows fonts (i think windows uses ms sans serif) and web page texts look pretty unappealing in konquerer. all seemed fuzzy due to anti-aliasing so i disabled it w/in kde. however, they now look more jagged than the same sized fonts w/in windows.

i also ran firefox .9 and text of websites displays pretty well since it uses 'sans serif' font. however, the text is still fuzzy. how can disable anti-aliasing globally, as well as use the 'sans serif' font from firefox as the system font (system font doesn't include 'sans serif font').
