Disable tree view in Nautilus
Hi,
I'm running Gnome 2.14 on Fedora Core 5. When I'm using Nautilus, folders that appear in the main pane have the little triangle to the left of them that allows you to expand and collapse them to view the files and folders under that directory. I would like to know how to disable this feature in Nautilus. I've never seen this in previous versions and have taken a quick look through the Gnome configuration editor but haven't found anything that looks applicable.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I am running 2.12.3 and this works for me: with a Nautilus window open, click "View" --> "Side Pane" and the tree view will disappear. You can also hit "F9" and that will do the same thing. I believe new Nautilus windows will appear without the tree view, at least mine do. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but the tree view I'm talking about occurs in the main pane, not the one on the left side. I didn't this happening in 2.12; there might have been a change between versions.

Oops, sorry! So, since I don't have 2.14, I am now wondering if I want it, if they only have a tree view. I don't like the tree view...!

You know what, I just tried that drop down right under the foot in a nautilus browser window and there are two options: view as list and view as icons. Is this what you are talking about?
