Disable screen timeout X

How do you disable the screen timeout in X? Right now, after something like 15 minutes of inactivity, it turns off. How do you disable that or at least extend the timeout? If it matters, this is on Slackware 12.1 with no window manager. Thanks

I am not using a window manager. I have X start and in xinitrc I launch a vncviewer session and that is all (I experimented with putting xset s off in there after X loads - maybe that will do what I want), controlling another (windows) machine.
