disable desktop effects for certain programs in kde

Is it possible to exclude certain applications from KDE 4.1's native compositing (OpenGL desktop effects) features?

I would like to keep desktop effects enabled for everything except for VMWare. The latest version allows me to run applications within the host desktop environment, and the desktop effects aren't being friendly with this feature.

IRCC, beryl and compiz settings managers had options that allowed me to exclude particular applications - I can't seem to find something similar within KDE 4.1 .

Thanks in advance!

I know this thread is very old but I have the same question. Is there a way to exclude specific apps from having Plasma's desktop effects applied to them?

If you're serious, start a dedicated thread with a full problem description.
