Yes. Use Cedega from Transgaming.org - otherwise, no.

No and don't ask for one. LQ does not advocate piracy. The cost is tiny and is worth paying.

Note to everyone: if you want this thread to be closed, do not offer warez or pirated copies of this software.

My Idea

You don't need to buy a Cegnda.I have an idea:you can download a DIRECTX installer for windows, and run it by Wine, just like install it in Windows. Then download a video card driver for windows, and run it by Wine, too. Before this,Please mount drive c:/ as where you installed Linux.I don't know will it work or not,but it's the only way to run DIRECTX program if you don't want to use Cegnda.
Is there something wrong with my grammer?I'm not an American or English people.
Remember, don't download web-version installer!Or you must be fail.

Please don't drag up old threads like this. It's unlikely that the OP cares any more. It's also "Cedega", not "Cegnda".

You're right Nylex. This thread is over 6.5 years old! Maybe DirectX (whatever that is) doesn't even exist any more or it's called DirectZ.
ciao,
jdk

DirectX is still existing (now in version 11). DirectX 11 runs, AFAIK, not with Wine, also it will not work to install Windows graphics drivers with Wine, since Linux has no Windows kernel, even when working with Wine.
