Direct access to Key strikes

Hello folks,

How can one have direct access to key strikes. Normally the key strikes that collected by the concerned programme and access to the same is not available to any other user programs.
I am trying to write a program to simultaneously catch the key strikes. Obviously for this would require a low-level access to the keyboard. How can one do it ?

Thanks in advance,

Prabhat Soni

Plug yourself directly on the /dev/input device and interpret the patterns.
