Digikam help please

Dear All,

Hello. This is my first post here. I consider myself still a linux newbie even though I became familiar with mandrake, suse, and now mepis. I have heard alot of good things about this forum.

I am trying to use the latest digikam, etch, I believe in my mepis 3.3.2 with kde 3.5.1. The problem is that when I try to make a mpg slideshow out of my jpg photos I get an error code that points to a mjpeg tool problem. In fact, I have researched this enough lately to find out that there is a problem with the code and a few patches which I have found may make it work. I am just not savvy enough with bash to know how to correctly add this patch. The patch is supposed to be added to the images2mpg script in /usr/bin/. Does anyone here know how to do this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Marcia

Sripts are executable files can be read and edited like text files. Right click on images2mpg and go to Open and select kwrite or kate or whatever text editor you like. The images2mpg script will be displayed in the text editor, all 800 lines of it.
You should have some directions with that patch; it could take many forms. I suspect that it is also a script that automatically edits the images2mpg text. If there is something specific in the instructions you don't understand post back with your questions.
