Digikam and gphoto2 broken

After months with no problems suddenly Digikam has broken. I installed gphoto2 but that also is broken.

gdb shows (for both):

Code:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread -1258751056 (LWP 6033)]
0xb61a263d in _int_malloc () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6
The strange thing with Digikam is that I was downloading some photos and the first one was ok but the 2nd errored out. Since then I can't even list files.

I tried reverting to an earlier version of glibc to see if that was the problem but no change.

You have not posted much information to diagnose anything but my gut feeling is that this is a glibc problem. Did you reinstall gphoto et al after changing your glibc version? Have you noticed other apps breaking?

Perhaps start by running strace on the broken binaries and see if there may be some clues there...

It seems it may be the camera - I just tried reformatting the memory card and doing an erase all and now digikam works, but gphoto2 is now giving another error:

gphoto2: symbol lookup error: gphoto2: undefined symbol: GP_SYSTEM_IS_FILE

But at least digikam seems to work now.

*edit - using --quiet option works fine. Thanks for input.
