I'm not sure I understand your question. What software are you using to organise your photos? The way you write, it seems that digicam is software.

I can't find anything of that description; only for flickr not facebook. I think picasa (from google) should do the job.

It is the most popular picture manager on Linux, if you can't find it you look in the wrong place . Picasa is not native on Linux, it use a static wine built to work, I would not advise anybody to use it, I always had rendering glitch everytime I used it. Digikam does have a facebook plugin, but I never tested it.

About the export problem, ask if they can add a filter in the export plugin on the digikam-plugin mailing list, it should not be that hard.

You're quite wrong. I don't use Wine: never have and never will. Picasa runs on linux.

I don't know what you mean by "it". [if you can't find it you look in the wrong place]. Find what exactly? digicam? What is the name of your kde picture manager?

Sorry to make you feel bad, but if you use Picasa you do use Wine, because Picasa is not native on Linux and never was. http://picasa.google.com/linux/faq.html#12

About DigiKam, you can find it here http://www.digikam.org/

Yes I am using DigiKam. Its a great program but lets say I took 500 photos of a wedding and rated around 25 of them with a star. I then want to only load upload these 25 rated photos. But the upload dialogue box presents me with all to 500 photos contained in the folder while the box preview does not show the star. This means I need to again sort through 500 photos to find the ones I want to up load. I checked preferences options etc.

Can anyone help?

I know they provide a version, but if you take closer look, it include a static copy of wine. Google officially support Picasa on Linux, but using wine. It will use the system wine built if if it available or switch to the static one if it is not, it is written in the FAQ above.
