Ok Ive googled quite a bit and currently I cant find any info on accessing a Hewlet packard photosmart 210 on slack 9.1 does anyone know how to do this? (it doesnt use a usb connection but a seriel)
Does the camera have some kind of flash memory? I just pull the flash out of mine and use a $20.00 USB flash reader purchased at Staples. It's much faster and very easy. (The flash memory reader mounts as /dev/sda1.)
Thats a very good idea which Ill most likely do this weekend however is there anyway I can access it other then that. The flash reader will probely work but untill then Im going to have to find some other way to get to the pics thanks for the flash info however.
If your camera is connected to an usb port, it's very likely that your kernel has recognized the camera as root execute cat proc/scsi/usb-storage/x where x is a number usually between 1 and 3 then you'll see if the kernel recognized the memory card
If so mount /dev/sda1 or /dev/sda2 in some directory you create for that
Hope it helps
ya so Im gonna guess to do the flash thing now for all purposes, im a complete cam section newbie so bear with me, compact flash will work with the flash reader correct?
ya I was more worried about the hardware then soft in the case of the reader the only time Ive even used a cam is on windowze and that was a while back.. so I dont know jack about cams for linux thanks all.
