Diassembler/hex editor?

I'm looking for a disassembler or decompiler ( for C/C++ ) for linux. I'm not having much luck. Any ideas where one can be found? Also not having much look finding a decent tutorial on how to use hex editors. Suggestions for that would be great too.

Thanks again!
