Dial-up in KDE
Is there any other good dial-up programs for KDE besides kppp, because that doesnt really get along with my modem! I have a Rockwell modem and im using the old beta driver! And its known not to go great with kppp! What keeps happening is everytime without fail when im on the net the modem just stops talking to kppp, it stays connected but theres no flow! And it will happend everytime without fail at random times! And i have to d/c to get the connection alive again! Anyone recommend any good dial-up programs(GUI)but i can live with console too! Or even a fix to kppp!

Thanks in advance!

Try wvdial, its a great command line ppp client.

first run "wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf" this will query your modem and create the basic config file for you.

second , you edit the config file and uncomment the username /passowrd lines and set you correct username/password.

third you just run "wvdial" to connect.

Thanks for the reply!
They actually recommend wvdial in the driver readme, it works perfect with it, But i didnt know how to config it! (newb issue :p )

I'll try and config it later, hopefully everyting will go to plan, and to dial its just run wvdial and thats it, does the job yeah?
