dial up connection/modem
hi.
i didnt know if i should put thin in software or hardware but anyway, i have just installed redhat 9.0 and i am tryign to set up a dial up internet connection. i know hardly anything about linux and i cant set up my modem, i have a standard external modem and a USB modem. the standard one is a bit dodgy so i want to use the usb one. when linux tries to autodetect the modem it cant find one but had a list of about 20 devices e.g. /dev/M1. is there an easy way to set up my connection or do i have to do osmething special to get the usb modem to work? |
Start up KPPP in kde, and if it autodetects your modem, then you don't have to worry. Else... well just try this and post back if this does not work.
