dhcpcd + dhclient issues..

i have red hat 9 installed and everything was working fine. i got my wireless card up and running fine with little hasstle, and as soon as i restarted, and logged in through the graphical interface, that box comes up when the icons are about to load, and the system just hangs.

so someone told be to uninstall dhclient, and put on dhcpcd instead. i did this and my internet works fine again, but when i restart and after i login it hangs in the exact same place again.

everything on the machine is up to date, i used the up2date tool.

if i uninstall the dhcpcd and restart everything boots fine and nothing hangs. could this be something to do with the hostname settings?

How long does it 'hang' for? dhcpcd has a default timeout I think of 90 seconds, so if it's failing to get an IP it might be waiting to time out?
