Question DHCP on RH 7.1


I have installed Redhat 7.1 .
I wish to use my cable modem for accesing the internet.
I have linksys LNE100 ethernet card.
While installing I had specified that I wish to configure the DHCP.
Please HELP .

well, what kind of problems are you having?? ethernet card not working or no internet ?? what isp do you have ?? is the eth0 failing upon bootup ??

the ethernet card is linksys 100tx
the provider is HBC
the eth0 is not failing
I can see it with ifconfig -a
This is a dual boot install and win98 the card works fine.

In addition to my earlier message :
NO INTERNET !
any other method of confirming that eth0 is working fine (hwbrowser ??)

when looking at your output of your ifconfig.. do you have a ip address ?? did you set your DNS entries.. usually you still need those for you to get out on the web... even though you have it setup as DHCP. you can put your DNS entries in your /etc/resolve.conf file like this:

nameserver ip number here
nameserver second ip number

My problem is resolved.
It was simple ---dhcpcd eth0
