df (GNU coreutils) 6.9 declares used space not visible to ls.

kernel 3.2.29, slackware 12.0

Hi: Watch this:
Code:
semoi@local:~$ df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 19228276 7437300 10814228 41% /
/dev/hda3 19535036 5526524 14008512 29% /xp
/dev/hda4 77618044 82604 77535440 1% /almacen

semoi@local:~$ ls -la /almacen/
total 12
drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8192 2013-10-22 10:57 ./
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 2013-10-22 11:18 ../
semoi@local:~$
Could somebody explain this? Who is using the 82MB in the df command output?

The difference might be explained by the reserved blocks. A certain percentage of disk space is reserved for the super user (see the mke2fs manual page, the -m option).

You can see what the current block count and reserved block count are by doing the following:
Code:
dumpe2fs /dev/hda4 | egrep "Block count:|Reserved block count:"

Thanks, druuna. I thought something so could be happening, not sure though. Now, I forgot to tell the file system is ntfs, managed by ntfs-3g. But, I suppose something like that might be happening here.
