Developing Firefox/Firebird extensions.

For the past few days, I've looked and looked for the docs on how to create your own Firebird/Firefox extension, but I haven't been able to find any. Since the Mozilla docs are a bit difficult to find and understand, I thought that I would eventually find them, but I've given up the search. I did find the basic layout of an extension (here), but there's more to it than that. I you have to combine it with DOM to interact with the browser. ... I think.

Some people say that you should just take the extensions that you like and learn by example, but there have to be docs around here somewhere.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks.
