Dev packages needed for sendmail configuration??
When booting up a clean install of RedHat 9 I get the error:
no local mailer defined queue directory (Q) option must be set when starting sm-client. I believe this is because the sendmail configuration files could not be properly built, or built at all, at first-boot. This is becuase I didn't install any development packages! The problem is, I want to create a very slim installation. The question is: what does sendmail need to configure its files? From what I've read, I need to be able to run make (I did install make) and m4 (dont remember anything about m4). I want to install only what I need in order for sendmail to run! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Also, once I have installed needed packages, what do I need to run to set up the config files? What exactly does this do, anyway?
Thanks again. |
Where can I locate the script that redhat/sendmail tries to run on first boot of the system? I'd like to see what needs to be done so I can do it myself and also figure out what packages I need...

Thanks
