Determining running time of video with mplayer

Does anyone know how I can use mplayer (from the command line) to tell me how long (in time) a video file is?

Thanks for any help!

As the video is playing, press the O key on your keyboard to toggle OSD modes. At least one of them displays the full running time (ie. "position/total_running_time").
