Detect full screen app


Is there any way to determine if an application is fullscreen? For example I'm wanting to be able to find out if a game is running fullscreen or if the screensaver is active.

Any help much appreciated.

Very smart. That never occured to me. I wonder if perhaps I'm wanting to do it from within the OS?
