Desktop Environment/Window Managers

I don't want to start a flame war, but does anybody have some good metrics (speed comparisons) of the various DE/WMs?

Most of the lighter-weight WMs than any of the DEs. It's on;y because they aren't as thick. What you really should do is just try them all out and see which one runs faster for you. Most of the time the differences between speeds of the various Wm and DEs is miniscule, and it just matters on personal choice. Ratpoisin is really fast, but you might not like how it works.

Experiment, find what is right for you.
