I am using LE2005 with whatever updates i'm up to. As to the second reply, urpmi gets me version .88 which does not support video. Apparently, in versions .94 and .99 (latest) a component that was included in .88 (libgpod) was separated out in the later versions. The gtkpod site links to rpms for libgpod which is where I got mine. urpmi does not recognize libgpod.
and follow the instructions and set up "plf-free", "plf-nonfree", and "contrib" sources for urpmi. The .99 version of gtkpod is available on the plf site for LE2005 and once you set up the above three urpmi sources, all dependencies for gtkpod will be automatically resolved when you do the install using urpmi:
# urpmi gtkpod
or you can use the graphical front end for urpmi in mcc>software to select and install the correct gtkpod version. Urpmi is one of the nicest things about mandriva and the above plf and contrib sites greatly expand the software available without the dependency hassles of rpm. The above easyurpmi site greatly simplifies setting up these internet repos.
Thanks, Kilgoretrout, you are right. Actually I made a little discovery. First, I misread my own output, above. I needed three rpm's total: gtkpod-0.99.2-1.1.102mdk.rpm needed libgpod0-0.3.0-0.1.102mdk.i586.rpm which itself needed libgpod-0.3.0-0.1.102mdk.i586.rpm. I thought the last two were the same, but they differ only by the 0 after the pod. When I tried 'urpmi gtkpod' it installed version .88 which doesn't support video. I got the 3 rpms above from pbone but when I tried to install them I accidentally type urpmi instead of rpm -idf and urpmi installed the rpms. I didn't know it would do that. It probably would have prevented the problem from the beginning as urpmi gets the dependencies for you.
