I have a linux redhat 9.0 server set up for hosting web pages. When installing new webpages the server sometimes still links to older webpage files that have been deleted. (deleted using plesk, a web admin system). If I run "locate" some of the deleted files and directories still appear to be there. Although I can not cd or rm the directories or files as they do not show to be there normally in the command prompt...they only show when I run locate.
Thanks for the reply thats done the trick with regards to the index.html file still showing up in the 'locate' function, after it has been deleted. Although the file (webpage) is still being diplayed on the internet as if it was never deleted. Could the still be a problem cause by linux?
This is not a Linux problem. It's your browser's cache, or if you use a proxy it's the proxy's cache also. Try a Shift-Reload, or clean your browser's cache to see if it works.
