Deleted RPM manager in Mandrake 9.2
Hello,
I was trying to install a Samba RPM using the RPM manager that comes with Mandrake 9.2 and it asked me if I wanted to delete a file which I don't remember what it was, I clicked yes by mistake, couldn't install Samba due to excesive traffic in the FTP server I was downloading from but the problem is that after that happened the buttons that say install software, remove software and some other ones I don't remember are not there anymore. The Question: How can I get the packaging software back just the way I had it when I installed mandrake 9.2? |
Hard to say if you don't know which software you deinstalled, maybe you can try reinstalling them by hand. Download the package/get it from your installationcd, open a shell, type as root:
rpm -i [package-name] Maybe this will help you out. Or maybe you already know this is possible... Succes! Corien |
try "urpmi rpmdrake".
|
Another suggestion: if your rpm-manager keeps logs, it must be somewhere in /var/
But I'm not familiar with Mandrake and rpm, as you can see :). |
Thanks
Thank you all for ur answers I have solved my problem thank you very much
