Don't use OS X all that much but /dev/disk2s2 is disk 2 partition 2. The correct syntax is to use the drive ID i.e. /dev/disk2.

Well now I feel stupid...
But still the media fails the check I described earlier. This is a different USB stick than before. Will try to boot with it nevertheless...

So my current plan to fix this is to run Gparted, create a Windows 7 partition, install Windows, then install F21. But...
It would be really great if I could salvage my data. GParted shows only
Partition File System Size Used Unused
/dev/sda1 ext4 465.76 GB 145.68 MiB 354.32 MiB
Is there any chance to save my data or should I proceed with the repartition/reformat/reinstall?

I will use the Fedora Live boot disk, install Testdisk, and attempt to recover from there.

unetbootin is faster than installing another os.
